The National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) Foundation, through its Secretary-General Renato B. Lucas, announces the launch of the 2017 NAMCYA Competitions.
With support from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), the Department of Education (DepEd), and the Commission for Higher Education (CHEd), the NAMCYA continues to discover and nurture outstanding young Filipino musicians from all over the country for 44 years.
NAMCYA 2017 Categories include the following:
SOLO CATEGORIES:
Senior Piano
Senior Strings (violin and lower strings)
Senior Voice
Senior Woodwinds (flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon)
Senior Brasses (Upper and Lower Brasses)
Children’s Solo Rondalla Instrument
GROUP CATEGORIES:
Children’s Choir
Adult Choir
Youth Rondalla Ensemble
NON-COMPETITIVE CATEGORY:
Traditional Music Solo or Ensemble

The application deadline is on August 1. September 15 is the deadline of application for Traditional Music Category.
The National Finals Week on November 21-26, 2017 held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines coincides with the celebration of the National Music Week, as per Presidential Proclamation no. 25 s. 1998.
