Trumpet workshop, masterclass eyed at CCP

CCP is inviting trumpet players to attend the trumpet workshop to be given by international prize-winning trumpet player Raymond De Leon on Thursday and Friday, September 5 and 6. The workshop will follow the trumpet masterclass participated in by selected trumpet players.

Trumpet MasterclassThe Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) is inviting trumpet players to attend the trumpet workshop to be given by international prize-winning trumpet player Raymond De Leon on Thursday and Friday, September 5 and 6, from 1:30PM to 5:30PM at the Silangan Hall, 4th Floor of the CCP. Trumpet players are requested to bring their trumpets for participation in the trumpet choir.

The workshop will follow the trumpet masterclass participated in by selected trumpet players.

De Leon is a three-time first prize winner of the National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA). He was a semi-finalist in the 1st Calvia International Trumpet Competition in Mallorca, Spain in 2003. He won Third Prize in the International Trumpet Guild Solo Trumpet Competition in New Jersey in 2006, and won First Prize in the Seattle Philharmonic Don Bushell Concerto Competition in 2011. This led to his debut with the Seattle Philharmonic on March 2012, playing the Arutiunian Trumpet Concerto. He also performed and toured in Europe, US, and Asia with international orchestra players and competed in international music competitions.

De Leon is the featured artist of the second concert of the CCP Special Concert Series on September 4 at 7:30PM at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino.
