Following the launch of Cultural Center of the Philippine’s Kaisa sa Sining Regional Art Centers last January 2014, the CCP announced that it expanded further its regional network by signing a three-year Memorandum of Understanding with a new batch of partners recently at the CCP.
The new batch of regional partners included groups from Mindanao (City of Koronadal, South Cotabato; La Salle University, Ozamiz City; Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges, General Santos City), Visayas (Province of Capiz; City of Calbayog, Samar; Holy Name University, Tagbilaran City, Bohol; Cebu Arts Council) and Luzon (Developmental Initiatives for Bicolano Artists, Naga City; Heritage City of Vigan, Ilocos Sur; University of the Philippines Los Baños, Laguna).
The specific goal of Kaisa sa Sining is to broaden public participation in the arts, promote and showcase artistic excellence and facilitate a dynamic collaboration between the CCP and among the regional centers, universities or colleges. The key areas of the said partnership includes training & apprenticeship, touring & move-over productions, sharing of relevant cultural resource materials, access to arts & cultural information, venues & facilities; and participation in major cultural events.
To date, there are still a number of educational institutions and local organizations who have existing structures, programs and facilities that can very well support and sustain various arts and cultural events and activities. As such, the CCP would like to fortify a dynamic partnership with these institutions/organizations from all over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Similarly with the first batch, the new partners have been actively supporting the CCP Outreach program in the last two decades. And even with the establishment of regional centers, the CCP will continue to collaborate with all other organizations in the regions, either on a per program or project basis. The CCP is confident that the regional partnership will result to the further flourishing of arts and culture in the whole country.
