CCP presents ‘Pag-Ayo Pinaagi sa Arte’ series of art for healing activities

The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) through its Cultural Exchange Department (CED) presents “Pag-Ayo Pinaagi sa Arte” a series of art for healing activities for local communities affected by typhoons Odette and Agaton in selected areas in Visayas and Mindanao from September to November 2022.

The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) through its Cultural Exchange Department (CED) presents “Pag-Ayo Pinaagi sa Arte” a series of art for healing activities for local communities affected by typhoons Odette and Agaton in selected areas in Visayas and Mindanao from September to November 2022.

Implemented under the CED 2022 Tour Grants Program, Pag-ayo Panaagi sa Arte reinforces CCP’s commitment to continuously utilize arts and culture as healing and transformative instruments and part of the community recovery efforts.  Co-presented with Tanghalang Pilipino Foundation Inc., the featured artists and groups who will facilitate the activities include choreographers Alden Lugnasin of Leyte, Gerlin Francisco and Errol Villalobos of Iloilo City; Juan Paolo Q. Panagsagan, Joseph Brian Cimafranca and Alfred Samonte of the MADz management; JRG Chorale of Cebu City; Joseph Albert Basa of Silliman Univ. Dumaguete City; Bahaghari ng Malolos visual artists; and Tanghalang Pilipino.

The activities commenced in September with a dance for healing in Bais City, Majuyod, Bindoy – Negros Oriental followed by music for healing in Mabini-Bohol and Oslob-Cebu; visual arts for healing in October in Siargao Island; and theater for healing in Ormoc-Leyte slated on November 10-13.  CED and TP’s local partners are the Silliman University Culture and Arts Council, the Local Government Units of Bais, Majuyod and Bindoy-Negros Oriental, St. Michael the Archangel Parish of Mabini-Bohol; Bohol Province, Division of Bohol, San Roque National High School; LGUs of Oslob-Cebu and Siargao Island; and the City Government of Ormoc-Leyte.
