Celebrating the best films of 2016: Don’t miss this exciting list of movies

As we reach the end of 2016, it’s time to look back at the movies of the year. It has been an excellent year for cinema with so many movies being added to our ultimate favorite list. Here are some of the best films of 2016 that you need to watch.

Deadpool

Back in February, a new superhero was born. Ryan Reynolds had campaigned for the unique superhero film to be made for years. And the actor finally got his wish this year when the movie was released to the nation. Wade Wilson, played by Ryan, is not your usual superhero. A former operative for the special forces, he is loved up with his girlfriend when he discovers he is terminally ill. And his life comes crashing down when he gets tortured by an evil scientist who promises him life, and he turns into Deadpool. The character is hilarious, and he comes out with some great one-liners during the flick. And the movie doesn’t take itself too seriously like other superhero films. It isn’t for the easily offended as it does need its R rating for its excessive swearing and graphic scenes! For fans of the movie, you will be pleased to know that a sequel is coming soon. And if you haven’t watched it yet, you will be happy to know it’s out on DVD!

Warcraft

A long time coming, the Warcraft movie was released in June! The film is based on the popular online game which is played by millions of people around the world. Therefore, they were at the cinema in their droves when it was released earlier this year. The film focuses on the head of the orcs, Gul’dan, who uses dark magic to open a portal to the human realm Azeroth. Of course, it all goes wrong from there. It results in a war between the Horde, and the hulking invades who include King Llane. Despite its popularity with gamers, the film got mixed reviews from the critics. You can make up your own mind as it’s now available on DVD, or you could watch it on the best free movie app on your tablet. And you can read our review of the film on our previous blog!

Finding Dory

One film this year you would have taken the kids to see (but secretly wanted to watch yourself) is Finding Dory. The first film, Finding Nemo, was released back in 2003 and was a huge success for Pixar. The cute little fish Nemo, alongside his dad, Marlin, and new friend Dory, was an instant hit with young and old across the world. But we had to wait 13 years for a sequel. And this time, it focuses on forgettable Dory. The funny fish wants to find her parents who she lost back when she was a child. Her adventure leads her to the Marine Life Institute where she meets an array of new friends. It’s uncommon for a sequel to be as good as the original, but Finding Dory got rave reviews when it was released back in the summer. It will be available to watch at home from November!

Let’s hope that exciting new movies for 2017 such as Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2, Wonder Woman, and Beauty and the Beast are as good as expected.
