Cinemalaya launches Nespresso Vertical Shorts Competition

The Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival, the country’s biggest independent film competition, just got bigger and more exciting with the launching of Cinemalaya Nespresso Vertical Shorts Competition.

In partnership with Novateur Coffee Concepts Inc., the vertical shorts competition will be open to all Filipinos, including those residing and working abroad.

The theme for the competition is “Pagmamalasakit (Compassion).”

Entries should be created using a mobile phone, three-minute long only, in a vertical format (9:16). Entries can be in any language, but must have English subtitles. Entries should be for General Patronage.

Deadline for submission of entries will be on June 8, 2018.

Awarding of the winners for the Cinemalaya Nespresso Vertical Shorts will happen during the Cinemalaya Awards Night on August 12.

Winning entries will receive cash prizes from Nespresso: first place will take home Php50,000, second place, Php30,000, and third place, Php20,000. Winners will also take home Nespresso machines.

The competition mechanics and entry forms will be available at the www.cinemalaya.org andwww.culturalcenter.gov.ph.

The Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival is slated on August 3 to 12, 2018, at various CCP venues and theaters.
