‘Discover Opera!’ at CCP this April

A concert to promote and develop appreciation for opera will take place at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (Little Theater) on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 7:30pm.

A concert to promote and develop appreciation for opera will take place at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (Little Theater) on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 7:30pm.  “Discover Opera!”  An Evening of Arias and Ensemble will showcase selections from well loved operas which will include arias, ensemble pieces and choruses to be sung by young opera singers.

The selections to be featured are chosen from the following operas: Cosi fan tutte (Mozart), Die Fledermaus(Strauss), La Traviata (Verdi), Marriage of Figaro (Mozart),  Der Rosenkavalier ((Strauss), Candide (Bernstein), Le Perichole (Offenbach), Romeo and Juliette (Gounod), Don Giovanni (Mozart), L’elisir d’amore (Donizetti), La Boheme(Puccini), La Fille du Regiment (Donizetti), Werther (Massenet), Barber of Seville (Rossini), Edgar (Puccini) and Le Roi d’Ys (Lalo).

The singers comprise an impressive line up of young soloists who been featured in concerts and essayed roles operas.  They are Bianca Camille Lopez, Blanca Krystl Buesa, Stephanie Aguilar, Nerissa De Juan, Ma. Krissan Manikan, Jhom-erita Chua-So, Malvin Macasaet, Lorenz Lapresca, Leo Angelo Lanuza, Belford Mabunga Nil’s Flores and Renz Cruz.

Stage and music director is renowned Filipino baritone Andrew Fernando.  Joseph Evans Quiang is collaborating pianist.

Tickets are at P200 with 50% discount for students and 20% for senior citizens.
