Hobbyist photographer from Phl clinches second-runner up in Lenovo’s region-wide photography contest

Lenovo wraps Asia Pacific photography contest “See The Big Picture” with over 3,000 entries of positive and inspiring moments from the region.

Beating over 3,000 entries from 12 markets in Asia Pacific, Megan Adams from Australia has emerged as the winner of Lenovo’s “See The Big Picture” photography contest. Coming in at a close second and third are Ahmad Iskandar Abdullah from Singapore and Gaea Lei Osilao from Philippines respectively.

The region-wide contest saw participants celebrating the good that has come out of the pandemic by sharing their personal take on positive moments in life, as seen through the camera lens. Winning entries were selected based on voting by members of the public and a panel of judges.

Grand prize winner Megan Adams from Australia will be walking away with the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon, a cash prize of US$5,000, as well as a 12-month subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan. Megan is an avid photographer who carries her camera everywhere she goes. Her winning shot was spontaneously captured when she was out dancing with her friends at New Year’s Eve. Featuring her best friend Molly, Megan particularly likes this shot as the patterns, composition, and layers created this lively portrait of a spirited individual.

Taking home the runner-up title is Ahmad Iskandar Abdullah from Singapore. Moved by the genuine, unadulterated joy of children and children-at-heart adults having fun at the Digital Light Canvas at Marina Bay Sands Singapore, Ahmad was inspired to portray this emotion through this image. With this photo, he hopes to underscore the message that the little moments matter, and it is important for people be contented with what they have.

The third prize winner is Gaea Lei Osilao from the Philippines, who spontaneously snapped this shot on New Year’s Day during a family reunion. With the world in the throes of a pandemic and grappling with unending uncertainty, Gaea feels it is more important than ever to value family and loved ones during such times. This inspired her to capture moments like this that they can reminisce fondly upon in the years to come.

The contest also awarded the top 11 finalists with the Lenovo Yoga ANC Wireless Headset for their outstanding entries.
