Stage, television and film actor Audie Gemora takes centerstage on July 5, 7:30PM at the Little Theater of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

Audie

Billed “I Was Here” with Audie Gemora, the concert has Rony Fortich as Musical Director and special guest artists. Lighting design is by John Ilao Batalla, one of the country’s most sought-after lighting designers for live events and theatrical productions.

This event is the second concert of the TRIPLE THREATS: Leading Men and Women of Philippine Musical Theater series. Each concert is an intimate evening of beautiful music, personally selected by the artists themselves, from their vast repertoire of favorite songs from Broadway, West End, original Filipino musicals and the movies. Dubbed as a series of “concept concerts”, the narrative of the performance is dictated by the song choices, which is a rare opportunity for audiences to see a different facet of the acclaimed theater, television and film artist being featured. The first artist featured in “Triple Threats” was acclaimed actor Nonie Buencamino last June 13. The third and last concert of the series features Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo in August 15.

Though his name is primarily associated with theater, Audie Gemora is also one of the more respected singers in the local music industry. He recently cut a Broadway album entitled “Playlist”. He won an award for “Best Performance as Male Lead in a Musical” at the Gawad Buhay Awards of Philstage for his performance in “Sweeney Todd”. He recently starred opposite Joanna Ampil in Resorts World Manila’s “The Sound of Music”. His latest baby is “Talent School of Academics and Art”, a K to 12 school in tandem with Maestro Ryan Cayabyab opening in June 2013. Audie has figured in over 40 plays (Broadway/West End productions to original Filipino works) and has played major roles in productions.

Recently, he was elected president of Philstage, a coalition of the top professional performance arts companies. He is a co-founder of TRUMPETS, one of the leading theater companies in the country today, and also president of Stages Production Specialists Inc., an events, production, public relations and talent management company which has produced Footloose, High School, West Side Story, Peter Pan, and has taken care of the careers of “Asia’s Sensation” Christian Bautista, Little Big Star Champion Sam Concepcion, Karylle, Jay-R, Hayden Kho, Enrique Gil, and The Company, among other celebrities. His career now comes full circle paving the way for a new generation of artists having set up TV5’s in-house talent center TALENT 5.

TRIPLE THREATS: Leading Men and Women in Philippine Musical Theater is presented by the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Subscriptions to the three concerts are available at P1,500 for Orchestra Center and P1,200 for Orchestra Sides. Individual concert tickets are P800 for Orchestra Center and P600 for Orchestra Sides. The following standard discounts apply: 50% for students, 20% for Senior Citizen, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Military and Government Officials.
