Måneskin just released the official video for “I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE” with a worldwide YouTube premiere.
The critically praised bilingual rock band from Italy is skyrocketing up global charts, already garnering more than 2 billion streams. Their singles “BEGGIN’” and “I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE” are currently at #1 and #8 on Spotify’s Weekly Global Songs Chart. Included in Måneskin’s latest album “Teatro d’ira – Vol. I” – “I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE” has also reached #1 On The Spotify U.S. Viral Chart, #1 on Billboard’s “Hot Hard Rock Songs” Chart, Reached The Top-5 Of The Official UK Singles Chart, and has notched over 750 million streams to date.
The official video for “I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE” takes the audience inside a voyeuristic loop, where forbidden desires are matched with a little sacrifice. As the stars of a bold and no-filter live show, Måneskin perfectly reflects the song’s mood and lyrics, where various antithetical figures speak of sexuality in all its nuances – the antinomy that is inside each and every one of us that makes us all human, imperfect, and sinners in need of redemption.
Directed by Simone Bozzelli, his visual narratives investigate power relations in the sphere of impulses and relationships. Bozzelli is winner of the 35th Venice International Film Critics’ Week with the short movie “J’Adore” and produced by Think|Cattleya.
The band chose to wear Gucci outfits and accessories taken from the most iconic collections of its Creative Director, Alessandro Michele.
“I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE” is certified platinum in Italy, Finland and Poland; six-times platinum in Russia; and was certified gold in Austria, Greece, Norway, Sweden and Turkey.
This summer (and beyond), Måneskin is set to grace the stages of the greatest Music Festivals across Europe alongside some of the biggest names in the global music scene. They will perform, for the first time ever, at key sports arenas in Italy, as part of a tour organized and produced by Vivo Concerti, which already boasts six sold-out concerts scheduled for this winter and next spring.
With 24 platinum and 4 gold records (for FIMI/GfK), Måneskin continues to make bold steps in their international career path, breaking unprecedented records, climbing to number 1 on the charts worldwide and taking the world by storm with their music.
Måneskin, which means “moonlight” in Danish, is formed by: vocalist Damiano, bassist Victoria, guitarist Thomas and drummer Ethan. Some band members have been friends since junior high, but they started playing together only in 2015. Their sound is characterized by a combination of the different members’ music influences: a mix of rock ’n’ roll, rap/hip hop, reggae, funky and pop, all held together by lead vocalist Damiano’s soulful voice. This combination of vibes is also reflected in the band’s look, made unique by each member’s fashionable style. The young artists had the chance to really stand out and reach out to the public at the X Factor 11 live shows, where they unexpectedly dominated the stage, a great endeavour given their very young age. “Chosen”, their debut single that was released during the show, boasts several million streams and views and was certified double platinum. “Chosen” is also the title of their debut EP, released in December 2017 by Sony Music and produced by Lucio Fabbri, which was certified platinum just two months after it was released.
All the dates of their first 21-date tour produced by Vivo Concerti (February/April 2018) sold out in a few hours. The single “Morirò da Re” (three-times platinum) was released in March 2018, followed by “Torna a casa” (five-times platinum). These tracks paved the way for the new album “Il ballo della vita” nentirely written by Måneskin and produced in collaboration with Fabrizio Ferraguzzo, which was released on October 26, 2018. The record made its debut at #1 on the FIMI/Gfk chart with four singles earning a spot on the Top Ten and, less than two hours after its release, it peaked to #1 on iTunes, cracking, just a day after its release, the Spotify TOP 50 with all its songs and hitting 1 million streams in less than 24h. In February 2019, the band went on tour across Europe, before returning to the best music clubs and festivals in Italy as part of the spring-summer leg of “IL BALLO DELLA VITA TOUR”, which ended on September 14, 2019 with a special date at Carroponte in Milan. Måneskin then performed at a sold-out special live show held on November 28, 2019 at The Dome in London. “
Damiano, Victoria, Thomas and Ethan have so far earned 23 platinum and 5 gold records, collecting over 140,000 tickets sold and 70 sold-out dates in Italy and Europe. On October 30, 2020 they released their new single “Vent’Anni”, accompanied by a campaign shot by celebrated photographer Oliviero Toscani. Måneskin won the 71st Sanremo Music Festival with the song “ZITTI E BUONI”, and then conquered the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam. The release of their second album “Teatro d’ira – Vol. I” on March 19, 2021 will be followed by a 13-date tour held, for the first time ever, at sports arenas across Italy, which will kick off in December 2021 and end at the Arena di Verona on April 23, 2022, as well as by a tour across Europe’s greatest Music Festivals, which is scheduled for the summer of 2022.
