Museo Pambata Foundation Inc. and Stairway Foundation Inc. present Motions and Emotions, an exhibit by Henri Lamy. The exhibit will be on view at Museo Pambata’s Children in the Global Village room until March 6.
Motions and Emotions is a fundraising project for two nonprofit organizations: Museo Pambata Foundation and Stairway Foundation. Museo Pambata Foundation runs the the country’s first children’s museum which also holds art programs for underserved children, while Stairway Foundation in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro is a care home which offers programs that empower and equip life skills to street children. Part of the proceeds from the sale of Lamy’s art pieces will go to Museo Pambata and Stairway Foundation to ensure the continuity of each organization’s programs for underprivileged children.
This exhibit is borne out of Lamy’s recent travels in Brazil, Manila and Puerto Galera in the Philippines. Lamy’s willingness to share his art making methods to children and his intention to help Museo Pambata and Stairway Foundation inspired this special collection of everyday scenes in Puerto Galera and the streets of Manila and Brazil.
Lamy is a French figurative painter, born in 1985. He is an admirer of Jackson Pollock and “drip painting”. His latest concept involves capoeira and live-painting. This enables his inspiration to flow directly from his movements. He is a member of 59 Rivoli (art residence in the city of Paris), and has exhibited his works in Lyon, Aix en Provence, Paris, Nanjing, Beijing, Manila, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Geneva, Beirut and Bangkok.
Lamy will be conducting a palette knife workshop for children ages 8 to 10 years old on February 13, 1:00 PM at Museo Pambata. Fee is P1,500, inclusive of materials.
Co-presenters of this exhibit are the Consulate General of the Republic of San Marino – Philippines, Write Tech Enterprises, distributor of Giotto, and Times Trading Company Inc., distributor of Pebeo.
