Nespresso Vertical Shorts 2018 Competition deadline extended to June 20

The deadline for the submission of entries to the Cinemalaya Nespresso Vertical Shorts 2018 Competition has been extended to June 20.

The deadline for the submission of entries to the Cinemalaya Nespresso Vertical Shorts 2018 Competition has been extended to June 20.

A joint project of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Cinemalaya Foundation Inc., and Novateur Coffee Concepts Inc., the Nespresso Competition seeks to discover, encourage and honor cinematic works of Filipino filmmakers. The competition is open to all Filipinos, including those residing and working abroad.

Following the theme “Pagmamalasakit (Empathy),” the video entries should be in vertical format (9:16) and should not exceed three minutes. Entries can be in any language, but must have English subtitles. Entries should be for General Patronage.

Interested participants must register and upload their film entry at www.nespresso.ph/verticalshorts2018, and submit DVDs or USB (5 pieces), with violator and labeled with the title, production company address and contact numbers, production date, director’s name and running time, should be submitted to the Film, Broadcast and New Media Division office, 4/F CCP Main Bldg., Roxas Blvd., Pasay City.

Entries should be submitted with the duly completed application form, a synopsis in English, a brief résumé/biodata and two (2) recent 2×2 photos of the filmmaker(s).

Submit the following requirements on or before June 20, 2018 (Wednesday), 6pm, GMT.

Through a selection committee, comprised of members from Cinemalaya and Novateur Coffee Concepts Inc., the finalists will have their premiere screening at the CCP Little Theater during the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival, which is slated on August 3 to 12, 2018 at various CCP venues and select Ayala cinemas.

Awarding of winners of the Cinemalaya Nespresso Vertical Shorts 2018 Competition will be on the Cinemalaya Awards Night on August 12.

Winning entries will receive cash prizes from Nespresso – first prize will take home PhP50,000 with Nespresso Coffee machines and capsules worth PhP30,000; second place will receive PhP30,000 and Nespresso products worth PhP20,000; and third place will get PhP20,000 plus Nespresso products worth PhP15,000.
