Three leading experts in musical theater performance from New York will coach musical theater artists in the art and technique of singing, acting and dancing the musical on January 14-25, 2014.
A two week intensive training program aimed at developing ‘triple threats’ – musical theater performers who can sing, dance and act. The teaching team is composed of Carmela Sinco, musical theater and vocal coach who has worked for theater, television and film; Olando Pabotoy, an OBIE award winning actor and physical theater specialist who works with the Juilliard Drama Division at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts; and Albin Konopka who has enjoyed a career as musical director for major Broadway and international productions. This is made possible by a generous grant from the Asian Cultural Council (ACC).
The workshop is open to 25 participants, 20 of whom will be given full or partial scholarships based on merit through submitted application forms.
Interested applicants should submit the following:
- Curriculum Vitae to include list of musical theater productions/roles the applicant has been involved in
- 3 x 5 inch photo of applicant
- A video recording of around 10 minutes showing the artist’s skill in singing, dancing and acting
- Letter of recommendation by the head of the music/theater group
