The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra spread its music to highlight and culminate an outreach program of the Cultural Center of the Philippines under the leadership of its president Arsenio J. Lizaso in the province of Aklan.
The outreach program was be undertaken through a “Mentoring Activity” for pre-qualified musicians of Aklan (individuals or ensembles).
The “Masters Mentoring Program” was held at the Infant Jesus Academy classrooms in Kalibo, Aklan.
The outreach program culminated in a concert of the PPO entitled “An Enchanting Evening in Balete” on December 1 at 6:00 p.m. at the Teodoro F. Calizo Sr. Memorial Civic Center to celebrate the Centennial Foundation Anniversary of the municipality of Balete.
The PPO is widely recognized as one of the top ensembles in the Asia Pacific Region and its outreach program aims to promote music appreciation to all Filipinos particularly in the underserved communities not only in Metro Manila but also in other regions in the country.
The outreach program of the CCP in Aklan is made possible in collaboration with the Antique Lone District Representative and Office of House of Representatives Deputy Speaker Loren B. Legarda, Aklan Vice Governor Atty. Reynaldo M. Quimpo, and Mayor Dexter M. Calizo of the municipality of Balete.
