The Cultural Center of the Philippines presents its photography exhibition with support from HP Inc., entitled “Resetting the Clock” at the CCP Bulwagang Fernando Amorsolo (Small Gallery). The exhibition runs until October 21, 2018 at the CCP’s 4th floor galleries.
Housed under the CCP’s Exhibition Venue Grant Program, Resetting the Clock presents photo-based artworks by Hannah Aaron, Cindy Aquino, Zeus Bascon, Gino Javier, Jazel Kristin, Jippy Pascua, Charles Salazar, Jhemuel Salvador, Gerome Soriano, Marco Ugoy, Sidney Valdez, and Tanya Villanueva.
Resetting the Clock is curated by Con Cabrera. According to Cabrera, the exhibition stands “to create an interconnection to the emergence of photography’s new cycle and language, the artists were chosen to stand as markers in the local photo-based landscape, as they display a diversity of output, process, and theoretical perspective. The produced works of art interpret language as a varied form of communication influenced by cultural, societal, and familial upbringing. This collection serves as interlocutor of signs of the new influences in the constant shifting of language and/or viewing of image, such as emergent subcultures, gender expansion, topographies or class consciousness.”
On October 30, two of the participating artists in the exhibition will give a free workshop at the CCP MKP Hall under the CCP Arts Online program. There will be a collage-making workshop by Charles Salazar and a ‘zine-making workshop by Gerome Soriano from 2-4pm.
Resetting the Clock may be viewed from Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 6pm, and until 10pm on days with evening performances in the CCP Main Theater.
