Style for Humanity launches socially conscious fashion brand

SFH currently has relationships with three worthy charities: Room to Read, Thrive Networks and K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers. Each of these organizations are on the front lines of the global fight against childhood poverty. Last year, they collectively raised over $68 million in donations.

“Look Good. Feel Good. Do Good.” – That’s the mantra of Style for Humanity (SFH), a new fashion label whose founders hope to be part of making the world a better place. The brand will donate 20% of its profits to carefully selected charities that share its vision.

When asked about how the idea for SFH was born, co-founder Raymond Fong said, “The genesis of SFH didn’t start with the question, ‘How do we create the best clothing line?’ Instead, we started with the question, ‘How do we collectively make the greatest positive impact on the world?’”

Fong also said that the 20% figure is no accident. While some boast of donating merely a fraction of a percentage of their profits as a marketing gimmick, that’s not the SFH philosophy. Donating 20% of gross profits enables SFH to sustain itself while also providing a tremendous boost to associated charity organizations.

The founders of SFH have enjoyed many advantages in life, although they’ve each had to work hard to reach their respective goals. They see this new fashion brand as an opportunity to give back to those who are in the greatest need.

The SFH spring/summer collection was designed by Barry Yu, who has designed clothing for the likes of Selena Gomez, Wiz Khalifa and Lady Gaga, among others. The inaugural collection strongly references casual LA fashion – minimal, essential and most definitely chic.

SFH sources all of its fabrics locally and only partners with ethical garment manufacturers that pay fair wages and ensure safety for all workers.

“We believe in putting people before profits,” said Fong. “After all, businesses exist to serve the people and the world, not the other way around. As SFH grows, so too will its positive contributions.”
