Student filmmakers eye to redefine film

Now on its 16th year, IUF continues to give aspiring filmmakers across the country an opportunity to reimagine their creativity and pursue their passion for the craft.

INDIE UN-FILM FESTIVAL (IUF) is an annual digital film competition that is spearheaded by the DLSU Green Media Group, a premiere university-based media and production organization. This event is a platform for student filmmakers to showcase their work to the public and for the audience to heighten their appreciation for the craft of filmmaking.

Now on its 16th year, IUF continues to give aspiring filmmakers across the country an opportunity to reimagine their creativity and pursue their passion for the craft. True to the vision of GMG, IUF pioneers for student empowerment and social change. This year’s theme: “Redefine Film,” challenges film enthusiasts to abandon the typical and to go beyond the quintessential, capturing the world the way they see it.

IUF’s categories: Feature, Experimental, Documentary, and Music Video, provides a platform for every style of film to shine. The art of filmmaking knows no age, which is why this year, IUF is opening the competition to Senior High School students across the country, adding more frames to build a new and vivid kaleidoscope of the world.

One hundred entries have been submitted reaching as far as Dumaguete, Bataan, Camarines Sur, Cebu, Baguio, Bulacan, Batangas, Laguna, Iloilo, and Las Piñas, each one daring to open minds and reveal truths. However, one way or another, other filmmakers have created benchmarks that people refer to when creating their own film. Hence, joining IUF will be judges who have given a new meaning to indie films themselves such as Paul Soriano, Petersen Vargas, and Kristoffer Brugada.

Celebrate film with Indie-Un Film Festival from July 25 to 27 at the Natividad Fajardo Rosario Gonzales Auditorium and discover wonders through different lenses.

For tickets, contact Megan Marie Medina at 0920 972 3678 or order through tinyurl.com/IUF2019Tickets. Ticket prices are as follows: P200 per screening or P560 for a festival pass.

The festival will culminate with the Awards Night – where the winners for this year’s film festival will be recognized. The Awards Night is open to all IUF ticket holders.
