Tanghalang Pilipino announces PansamanTanghalan October 2020 events

Aside from theater productions, TP has utilized online platforms effectively by hosting classes and discussions. Together, these projects can be enjoyed by audiences and students who take interest in the development of Philippine theater.

Tanghalang Pilipino (TP), the resident theater company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, is well on its way to publishing some of their best ideas for their online platform, PangsamanTanghalan, for the month of October.

Aside from theater productions, TP has utilized online platforms effectively by hosting classes and discussions. Together, these projects can be enjoyed by audiences and students who take interest in the development of Philippine theater.

iKAPWA will be hosting two special masterclasses from two TP artistic directors. Current TP artistic director Nanding Josef will be teaching “Sarili Para sa BAYan (SABAY-KAPWA)” and will concentrate on improving online performances for the camera. Joining him in this workshop series will be Gawad Buhay awardee and former TP artistic director Dennis Marasigan to teach direction for online productions in “Gabay sa Bayan at Kapwa (GABAY-KAPWA)”. These workshops are ongoing until October 25.

PangsamanTanghalan premieres “Ang Hinihintay Naming…” by Silvester Bagadiong on October 16, and “PM is the Key” by Lhorvie Nuevo on October 17. The anthology playlist for these productions will be available on October 18.

Lastly, “Handa, Awit” sees the return of actors JC Santos and Anna Luna to perform a medley of songs from the musical “Lam-ang”. Santos and Luna will also be joined by Tex Ordoñez-de Leon, Raflesia Bravo, Gabo Tolentino, and Joshua Cabiladas, along with Actors Company members Jonathan Tadioan, JV Ibesate, Antonette Go, Lhorvie Nuevo, Manok Nellas, and Eunice Pacia. The online concert can be streamed this October 24.
