Anthony Meneses, a fast-rising Filipino singer-songwriter with over half a million monthly Spotify listeners, has released a duet version of his single Paruparo, this time featuring Korean artist Kim Gyeol.
This marks his second release under the Korean entertainment label Abyss Company, following Embotido in May 2025. Anthony is the first artist signed under Abyss Company Philippines, reflecting the label’s recent expansion into the country and its mission to foster Filipino-Korean music collaborations.
Originally released in February 2023, Paruparo returns as a refreshed cross-cultural collaboration. Known for his deep voice, heartfelt lyricism, and clever wordplay, Anthony first captured public attention as a Wishcovery Season 3 Grand Finalist in 2021, later placing in the Top 12 of Idol Philippines Season 2 (2022), where his audition performance of When I Met You went viral with over 2.5 million views.
His growing discography began with his first release, Padayon (May 2022), followed by Paruparo (February 2023), Pano Maging Tayo with This Band (August 2023), and Kusapiling (February 2024), which debuted at #13 on Spotify Philippines’ Viral Songs Chart. He plans to release another single this year following the Paruparo collaboration, with a debut EP also in the pipeline. Since 2024, he has been a regular performer on ABS-CBN’s Sunday variety show ASAP, as part of the ASAP Rockoustic Heartthrobs.
Joining him on the 2025 re-release of Paruparo is Kim Gyeol, a rising Korean singer-songwriter celebrated for her poetic lyrics and emotive tone. Known for singles like One’s Love and A Creased Heart, as well as YouTube covers surpassing one million views each, she brings a fresh layer of emotional depth to the collaboration.
The new Paruparo highlights the synergy of Filipino and Korean artistry, signaling the start of Abyss Company’s global vision and cross-border music projects. Guided by his mantra Padayon—“keep going”—Anthony continues to carve out his place as a prominent artist in the next generation of OPM.
