Mikee Sarmiento continues his breakout year with fourth single, ‘Kasangga’

Mikee Sarmiento is only getting started.

After officially beginning his journey as a recording artist this year, the rising Filipino singer-songwriter returns with “Kasangga,” his fourth single under Off The Record and Sony Music Entertainment Philippines.

In just a few months, Mikee has begun carving out his own space in contemporary Filipino pop through songs built on sincerity, intimacy, and the emotions people often struggle to say out loud. His music leans into soft confessionals and slow-burn emotion, pairing tender vocals with polished Pop and R&B production while keeping his songwriting personal and distinctly Filipino.

His debut single under the label, “Tahan Na,” introduced listeners to Mikee through a gentle song about finding comfort and refuge in another person. Since then, each release has continued to build the emotional language of a young artist discovering what he wants his music to say and who he wants to say it to.

Rather than arriving with an already-defined persona, Mikee’s first year of releases has allowed listeners to witness an artist taking shape in real time.

With “Kasangga,” that identity becomes clearer.

The new single explores companionship through the fictional story of an angel sent to help a woman rediscover her self-worth, only to unexpectedly fall in love with her. Behind the fantasy is a familiar human feeling: wanting to stay beside someone, even when loving them does not guarantee they will belong to you.

The song’s recurring promise, “Samahan mo ako sa walang hanggan / Di kita iiwan kahit tumanda,” reflects the kind of love Mikee continues to gravitate toward as a songwriter: quiet, reassuring, and grounded in presence rather than spectacle.

That emotional directness is quickly becoming central to Mikee Sarmiento’s music. His songs feel suited for late-night listening, long drives, private dedications, and the moments when a simple sentence can carry more weight than a grand declaration.

As his fourth single arrives within the same year he began releasing music under Off The Record and Sony Music Entertainment Philippines, “Kasangga” marks another step forward in what is still the very beginning of Mikee’s career.

Four songs in, Mikee is steadily building a catalog around one simple strength: making tenderness feel worth listening to.

“Kasangga” by Mikee Sarmiento is out now on all major streaming platforms via Off The Record and Sony Music Entertainment Philippines.
