Southern alt-rocker Fimone releases “Gemini June (Megan Coleman Dance Remix),” a euphoric reimagining of the love song written for her wife. The new version blends pulsing synths and house-pop production by Nashville DJ and drummer Megan Coleman (Brandi Carlile, The Highwomen, Sheryl Crow) and is mixed and mastered by two-time Grammy-winner Greg Magers (J. Ivy).
The original “Gemini June” dropped in 2023 as a dreamy, vulnerable ode to queer love. This 2025 remix version gives it new life on the dance floor, serving as a throwback to the Minneapolis gay clubs Fimone snuck into as a teen with her brother, where she first fell in love with remixed anthems like Whitney Houston’s “It’s Not Right But It’s Ok (Thunderpuss Remix).”
“Gemini June is a love song I wrote for my wife, and this remix, brought to life by the incredible Megan Coleman, is my way of honoring that early joy and giving the track a second life,” says Fimone. “It’s also a way to celebrate where I came from, who I am, and the community that’s always lifted me up.”
With lyrics that repeat like a mantra — “Never met a woman quite like you” — the remix builds to a radiant, beat-driven release that feels both nostalgic and bold. It marks another milestone in a landmark year for Fimone, whose Fascination EP has drawn praise from CMT, ACM, MusicRow, Rainbow Rodeo, and The Tennessean, where journalist Marcus K. Dowling dubbed her with “uniquely countrified authenticity.”
Fimone recently performed at Bridgestone Arena for Nashville Predators’ Pride Night, and at Minneapolis’ iconic First Avenue. Her self-directed visuals, vulnerable storytelling, and fearless fusion of country, rock, and queer identity have made her a rising voice in southern rock’s next wave.
