Workshop on promoting oral literary traditions slated on May 4-5

The event is a seminar-workshop on children’s theater pedagogy and production for elementary teachers which plays an important role in creating, reinforcing, and enhancing our children’s knowledge on local cultural traditions and identity.

The Sorsogon State University’s College of Teacher Education and Midwifery in partnership with Kurit-Lagting Art Collective and the Concerned Artists of the Philippines Bicol Chapter, will be conducting a face-to-face workshop on Promoting Oral Literary Traditions through the Children’s Theater with Prof. Marigrace Carretero and Prof. Anabell Manga of the Sorsogon State University as the speakers this coming May 4-5, 2023.

The event is a seminar-workshop on children’s theater pedagogy and production for elementary teachers which plays an important role in creating, reinforcing, and enhancing our children’s knowledge on local cultural traditions and identity. As a teaching method, children can be exceptionally active when they are involved in the process or lessons that interest them. Moreover, as a collaborative form of art, it promotes awareness, engagement, and participation through storytelling and performances creating a strong affinity to arts and culture.

The workshop is co-presented by Sorsogon Initiatives for Culture and Arts Development, Cesar Gueta Art Studio and Gallery, and F3R Events and Catering.
